Imtiaz Gul is one of the leading and senior Pakistan journalists and hosts a weekly political talk show on one of Pakistan's leading TV channel, Hum TV, besides regularly appearing on Al-Jazeera English/Arabic TV plus local TV channels for comments. He is also the correspondent for Germany's prime overseas broadcaster Deutsche Welle (The Voice of Germany) since 1988.

Gul is one of the leading media persons of Pakistan focusing on the issues of politics, governance, security, terrorism and religious extremism. He has been writing for the esteemed The Muslim newspaper, once the only English daily from Islamabad and contributed Pakistan, FATA and Afghanistan specific articles to the German Press Agency (DPA).

Since 1995, Gul has been working as the Islamabad correspondent for Pakistan's most influential political weekly, The Friday Times and his columns on the issues mentioned above keep appearing in The News, Pakistan's largest English daily. Gul has also authored a book titled The Unholy Nexus: Afghan-Pakistan Relations under the Taliban Militia (July 2002) and has edited many books including the acclaimed Liberalism, Islam and Human Rights.
